Gilbert Municipal Court Marriage Records

Marriage records, which document legal unions between two individuals, are tied to the issuance of marriage licenses. In Arizona, jurisdiction over marriage applications and recordkeeping is held by the Clerk of the Superior Court of any county. That means, the Clerk of the Superior Court for Maricopa County (where the Town of Gilbert is situated) is responsible for releasing marriage licenses upon a couple's formal application and recording the licenses upon return (this action creates the marriage record).

Residents of the Town of Gilbert whose marriage licenses were approved by the Clerk of the Maricopa County Superior Court can request their marriage records as follows:

  • Request a certified copy (mail delivery included) for an additional $43.50 paid at the time the license is requested or any time afterward, or
  • Request a certified copy at a reduced rate—$35.50—if providing a business-size, self-addressed stamped envelope at the time of the request.

For members of the public, the Clerk has an online Public Records Request portal for obtaining copies of marriage records (select "Marriage License Copies" → "Continue" to proceed to the records request form). Other request channels are specified on the Clerk's Obtaining Records page.

The following charges apply:

  • Uncertified Copy: 50 cents per license
  • Certified Copy: $35.50 per license
  • Postage & Handling: $8
  • Abstract: $35 per abstract
